With a view to enhance cooperation in the energy sector between Sri Lanka and France, a special meeting was held yesterday (03) at the Ministry of Energy between the French Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Mr. Rémi Lambert, and the Hon. Minister of Energy, Eng. Kumara Jayakody.

During the event, prolonged discussions were held on enhancing the energy cooperation between the two countries.

Furthermore, discussions were centered about the potentials of developing clean energy sources, particularly solar power and wind power projects, enhancement of the capacity of reservoirs associated with hydropower plants, technical and financial cooperation projects to enhance energy efficiency and new policies and initiatives that can be taken to promote eco-friendly energy.

A delegation from the French Embassy, including Deputy Head of the Mission Mrs. Marie-Noëlle DURIS, participated in the event.

The meeting is intended to further strengthen cooperation in the energy sector between Sri Lanka and France, and make a significant contribution towards achieving the goal of promoting the use of clean, efficient and sustainable energy sources.
