A group of Japanese investors recently met with the Energy Minister, Eng. Kumara Jayakody and discussed several project proposals that could be implemented by introducing the state-of-the-art technologies used in Japan’s Renewable Energy Sector.

The Minister’s attention was particularly drawn to the latest technologies currently being used in Japan’s solar energy sector, which have ensured an uninterrupted and stable power supply to hospitals, economic and security centers that require electricity even during emergency situations.

It was proposed that a pilot project related to such a special project be implemented in the country, and in addition, proposals for modern solutions to maintain the stability of the country’s power system were also discussed.

The investors conveyed to the Minister that the new government’s transparent and open investment policies have greatly encouraged the Japanese investors to invest in multiple sectors in this country, and that new investment opportunities, especially in the power sector, have captured their special attention.
