“I was also a leader once. There are lot of sacrificed people behind a leader. During the previous regime, there were corrupted people around the leader which caused to degradation of the leader. We were experienced it. As a minister, we will lose our dignity, if we are in association with corrupted people. A leader will lose the leadership not by the people sacrificed for him, but by others. Secretary Upali Marasinghe said he will resign on February. I wish both us will be able to work together until that” Minister of Petroleum Resources Development stated. He made this reviews at the books launch named “Presentation techniques” “Productive Governmental Institutions” written by Upali Marasinghe in Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administrative (SLIDA), yesterday.

“I responsibly say that if the governmental institutions are privatizing, it caused by the weakness of the public servants. Public servants should not be afraid to make decisions. Decisions should take in favor of the country. State service is weak due to the political influence during the previous time. During the previous regime, public servants had to leave the job, if they haven’t obeyed to the superior’s order. We have changed it” Minister Ranarunga added.

“Senior officers will come the state administration from different environments. They have their own attitudes, culture and opinions. You will be able to get a knowledge how to do productivity in the state service by my books” Secretary Upali Marasinghe added.

Several dignaties including Deputy Minister of Petroleum Resources Development Dr. Anoma Gamage, Minister of Law and Order Ranjitha Maddumabandara were graced the occasion.
