Hon.Minister of Petroleum Resources Development Arjuna Ranatunga stated that he would not let CPC to be privatize under Singapore Free Trade agreement or any other agreement.

Responding to a query arose by MP Bandula Gunawardena, Minister said that agreement should be discussed in the cabinet. Afterwards it will be presented to the parliament and exposed to the public. He also stated that there’s no proposal to privatize the CPC.

Minister of City Planning and Water Supply Rauff Hakeem added that they won’t sign the agreement in one night in secretly and it will take long time discussions.

Minister Lakshman Kiriella stated that they have already discussed about the agreement in the cabinet.
