The meeting was held with the aim to congratulate the new Energy Minister and to discuss ways to enhance cooperation in the energy sector between the two countries. The U.S. Ambassador expressed that the U.S. government is willing to offer the necessary technical and other assistance, particularly regarding the development of Sri Lanka&#8217;s energy sector, and that they are highly expecting the new government, which has secured a strong mandate from the majority of the population, will fulfill the best interests of the Sri Lankan people, and the continued support will be available from the U.S. government in this regard.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister of Energy, Engineer Mr. Kumara Jayakodi, explained the Energy Policy and Energy Vision of the new government, expressing his expectation for the support of the U.S. government, especially for the Renewable Energy Sector and emphasized his deep appreciation of the strong friendship and support received from the United States as a country that stands as a significant ally.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Alongside the U.S. Ambassador, the meeting held at the office of the Ministry Of Energy at Ernest Silva Mawatha, Colombo 07, also included the participation of Mrs. Rozanne Croos Moraes, the USAID Project Development Specialist (Energy) \u2013 Office of Economic Growth, Prof. K.T.M. Udayanga Hemapala, the Secretary to the Ministry of Energy, Mr. D.A.
