Kumara Jayakody.<\/p>\n<p>Accordingly, <strong>Dr. B.L. Pradeep Priyadarshana Perera<\/strong> was appointed as the <strong>Chairman and Member of the Board of the<\/strong> <strong>National System operator \u00a0(Pvt.) Ltd.<\/strong>, while <strong>Mr. G.J. Aluthge<\/strong> and <strong>Mr. U.D. Neranjith<\/strong> were appointed as Directors, Mr. <strong>P.N.S. Kumaratunga<\/strong> was appointed as the <strong>Chairman and Member of the Board of the National Transmission Network Service (Pvt.) Ltd.<\/strong>, while <strong>Mr. N.K.S. Mahindasinghe<\/strong> and <strong>Mr. N.N. Weththasinghe<\/strong> were appointed as Directors, <strong>Dr. J.G.A. Saliya Jayasekara<\/strong> was appointed as the <strong>Chairman and Member of the Board of the Electricity Generation Lanka (Pvt.)Ltd.<\/strong>, while <strong>Mr. N.G. Saliya Panditharatne<\/strong>, and <strong>Eng. T.A. Mr. Wanniarachchi<\/strong>, were appointed as Directors, and \u00a0<strong>Mr. R. Rohitha Jayarathne<\/strong> was appointed as <strong>the Chairman and Member of the Board of the Electricity Distribution Lanka (Pvt.) Ltd<\/strong>., and <strong>Dr. J.B. Ekanayake<\/strong> and <strong>C.K. Ranathunga<\/strong> were appointed as Directors.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the event, the Minister emphasized that directors must diligently commit to the progress of these companies, as the future of the country\u2019s electricity sector depends on it and he added that these companies need to continue advancing.<\/p>\n<p>In addotion, the Ministry of Energy had organized an awareness program for the Directors in line with the awarding of these appointment letters. The Minister of Labor and the Deputy Minister of Finance and Planning Prof. Anil Jayantha Fernando also participated in the event, providing necessary guidance, basic awareness and instructions
