- Applications are invited from qualified institutions located within the limits of Colombo, Sri Jayewardenepura Kotte, Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia and Kaduwela Municipal Councils, Maharagama and Boraleslamu Urban Councils and Kelaniya Pradeshiya Sabha for registration of such institutions to carry out repair work of vehicles owned by the Ministry of Energy for the year 2026.
- Applications will be issued by the Transport Division of this Ministry from 9.00 a.m. on 02.2026. Interested and eligible institutions can obtain the application form by paying a non-refundable fee of Rs. 2000.00 to the Shroff at the Accounts Division of this Ministry and submitting the relevant receipt to the Transport Division of this Ministry on or before 3.00 p.m. on 24.02.2026.
- The envelope containing the duly completed application, along with a certified copy of the Business Registration Certificate, should be marked as “Registration of Institutions for Repair and Seasonal Services for Vehicles owned by the Ministry of Energy” on its top left corner and should be sent by registered post to the Ministry’s address mentioned below, or placed in the tender box kept at the Transport Division on the second floor of the Ministry, on or before 10.00 a.m. on 25.02.2026.
- Attached to the application, submitting a certified copy of the Business Registration Certificate for VAT payment purposes is mandatory.
- In the event that the details provided in the applications are found to be untrue, such applications will be rejected if discovered before the selection for registration stage (during on-site inspection), and if discovered after registration (during the rendering of services), action will be taken to discontinue obtaining services from such institutions from that point onwards.
- In cases where the Ministry issues a special request under a decision made according to its requirements, the relevant applicants are required to submit a Suitability Report certified by a chartered engineer in the field, confirming that the institutions applying for registration are capable of carrying out these functions.
- Description of Repairs
Complete engine repairs, gearbox repairs (auto and manual) and other transmission system repairs, brake system repairs, electrical circuit repairs (devices including radios, cameras), fiber work, sheet metal work, tinkering, painting work and cut-and-polish, canopy repairing, vehicle shock absorber and leaf springs mechanical service (suspension), silencer repairing, vehicle air conditioner repairs, tinting and supplying of vehicle decorating spare parts, wheel alignment and balancing, cushioning and carpeting of all types of vehicles, all types of motorcycle repairs, vehicles key cutting and remote key repairs.
- Incompletely filled and delayed applications shall be rejected, and the Secretary to the Ministry of Energy shall have the final authority to decide whether or not to register the applying institutions under the Ministry.
